  24. How do you install other (GNU) software (that doesn't have this
  25. variable)? Can't you just install the programs on the rw volumes? 
  26. Or do make bindir=/afs/... install?
  27. I'm not anxious to change every single install target.

  29. I sure hope AFS gives you a lot of benefit, since from what I've seen it
  30. causes an awful lot of grief!
